I was going to title this ‘rainy days’ but I have had rather fun paddles in the rain so lets call this a stormy day blog when the weather stops us from getting on the SUP! I have thought of 5 ideas to keep you busy if your SUP plans got changed because of the weather!
1.CLEAN YOUR KIT
A poor weather day is the perfect time to clean your kit! Get your board out, give it a good scrub with some SUP Scrub! Clean your paddle and your other kit, salt water can cause havoc so make sure it’s fresh water cleaned!
2.PLAN YOUR NEXT ADVENTURE
Now is the time to plan your next trip. Find some new spots to adventure, if you download GeoSup from the app store – there’s lots of trips from around the world on it. It’s such a fab app for discovering new paddle spots close to you and far away!
3.LEARN ABOUT THE WEATHER
Paddleboarding is weather dependant so learn about the wind, how it impacts your paddle spots, learn how to forecast and plan for it. Learn about the tides and how these work and how they could impact your paddles.
4.MAKE A WISH LIST
Christmas is approaching so why not make a wish list of some paddle items you would love for the season ahead or even next summer (click here to find my blog on gift ideas).
5.LEARN NEW TECHNIQUES
YouTube! I watch YouTube loads on paddle techniques, pivot turns, board reviews, kits etc. So grab a cuppa and learn some new skills in the comfort of your home!
